Shaded Route Planning

A heat-aware pedestrian routing system designed for urban environments where sun exposure is a real comfort and safety concern. The system uses solar geometry modeling to compute sun angles throughout the day, then applies image segmentation to estimate building shadow coverage at street level. Walking routes are scored by their shade percentage at a given time of day, enabling route recommendations that prioritize cooler, shadier paths, a practical application of geospatial reasoning and computational geometry.
